The Conference of Health Care, East and West, Moving into the 21st Century, was jointly sponsored by the Chinese Medical Association, Harvard University School of Medicine, Harvard University School of Public Health, Harvard University School of Dentistry, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). It was held at MIT in June of 2001. Wu Jieping, Honorary President of the Chinese Medical Association and Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, joined the Conference together with Zhang Wenkang, then Chairman of the Chinese Medical Association and PRC Minister of Health.
